I learned that some have too much control over the human population here at Iboats... what once was fun has now become a drag.. and it boiled down to ones comment.... I have learned to dislike this person very much here in a very short period of time. I looked towards TBAB for very useful information, as well did many others. Just so everyone knows.....the pictures were put in there as edits to cover up some email addresses and stuff that i didnt want being seen after dink helped me with something.

Wimperdink.<br /><br />The material is not "lost", as you put it. It is all there, including about 500 off-topic chat posts. You can go look at it anytime you please. If you want to pick up an exchange on any on-topic post, click on Post New Topic.<br /><br />My "waste of bandwidth" comment referred to page 15, a page about opening a new page. Go look. See if you can find a post about building a boat.<br /><br />I will consider reopening the thread if I get assurances that it will be used to address the topic.

JB the only reason it got that off topic was because of friendships developed through that post and when we werent able to get in touch with a member we used that post as a crutch to try to make it happen.<br /><br />as far as being lost... its as good as lost because as you well know, with it being lock it will drift down into page 3, 4, 5, then only available by search... and who wants to go back to find info that way... it doesnt happen.<br /><br />I feel that you were way out of line locking it. If we are off topic move it. If you dont want to move it... leave a warning. There was no objectionable, or abusive, or illegal, material in there. I feel the amount of boat building material that is in there would not have been acceptable in DC so thats why it was placed there. <br /><br />There are lots of old jokes and banter and what not using up "bandwidth" in DC so i'm sure if thats an issue, locking out DC would help the "bandwidth" issues. If its "server space" your worried about I guarantee it doesnt even put a dent in the capabilities being as any pictures and what not are hosted else where and linked to from here.<br /><br />I'm not going to beg you to reopen it because it was closed for your personal reasons and you'll do what you want anyway. I've got my dignity and I hope you have some too.

Wimp,<br /><br />As a lurker in the resto forum, I found the original thread interesting and viewed it somewhat regularly. However, I can't tell you the last time I viewed it as I tired of wading through all the dribble. <br /><br />Sorry about the lockup, but you guys hi-jacked your own thread. AOL, MSN and YAHOO all offer free Instant Message services that you all could get together and have your own private chat anytime.

Thats what half the recent "dribble" was about, getting a good chatroom set up to get it out of there. It was just in the last day or two accomplished and I fully expect that most of the "dribble" will subside.
