Hello,
I was looking for a new prop for my old baby from the 70's. It actually has a 2 blades with this number on the front side. #312129.

Someone have an idea about the actual pitche of this prop?

Anyway the most important is wich replacement prop should I use from those available on iboats.com? I am a little confuse cause these props don't look like mine! I guest cause it is generic images?

Thanks, Mart

The 312129 is a 8" X 7.5. (diameter X pitch).Pitch is the key number. A mid sized prop.Size may appear near the base of the blades
or on the body or hub.
Properly setup a 6hp could make about 12 mph. with a light reasonable fast boat.
Probably would need a tiller extension so you could sit in the middle seat.
Tell us about the boat How it did with this prop, typical load and activities. A gps speed.

With a 12' alu boat it runs quite well. I never used GPS with it so I don't know but 12mph seems possible. I'll let you know next summer.

If I tun a 8'' x 7.5 - 2 blades, I guess the Solas#2011-083-08P (8''1/4 x 8 - 3 blades) could be to mutch prop right?

Assuming the 2 blade 7.5 seems to do a good job a 8" 3 blade would likely be too much.
If you boat mostly by yourself a 2 blade should be best.
The best way to do a prop is with an induction tach and a gps.
If it is making about 12 mph it will be on plane.
The higher pitch is harder to turn but could produce more speed if it can make wot rpm. range.
We can guess about rpm with an accurate speed and prop size.
Is the 12 footer a jon boat?

Jon boat, yes and no. Its is aluminum but not totaly flat bottom. The back is flat and the front has a V shape. Only 12' but looks like a Princecraft.

Next summer I'll use a GPS and try to get more information. I think I was curious to figure if 2 blades were out-dateted.

Yes thats a basic utility with a soft chine They ride better and handle rough seas better but are little harder to get on plane.
I have a 57 Crestliner 18' Utility.Belonged to a neighbor. Was used for duck hunting, hauling trash and as a fire boat.
It still has the original Mahogany seats.
