Hi all,

In rebuilding my seats for my runabout, I laminated the plywood with Epiglass HT9000. Mixed it 4:1 with a fast hardner, and rolled it on. Went on really nice with a foam roller.

PROBLEM: The heat went out in my shop, and my work was left there, unknowingly, without heat for the last 3 days. When I went to check on it tonite, it seemed like the finish was kind of "damp" and sticky. I brought everything in and its now in my basement.

Is the exposure to the cold going to have an effect on this? Someone pleeeeeeeeeeeeease tell me that this stuff will harden up.

Thanks
Rick K.

I'll lay money it'll cure just fine once it sits a bit at a decent temp..

-Roger

Re: Epiglass HT9000

OK, I'm back. Regarding the Epiglass, I had put it on and it was inadvertantly exposed to the cold (see above post). Brought it in, etc., and the epoxy cured up nice and hard, but it has this "greasy" film feeling to it. Did I totally screw this up by having it exposed to the cold, or will another coat seal it up just fine? I don't want to waste material; I'd rather start from scratch.

Thanks as always..
Rick K

The "greasy" film is a blush from the epoxy. You can either sand and leave as-is, or sand and recoat, but it'll probably blush again. It's the nature of some epoxies. Next coat won't form a proper bond unless the blush is gone..

Regards,
Roger
