Guys, just a quick question. Does anyone know the different flexing characteristics of epoxy filler and epoxy glue. I believe that filler has alot more 'give' flex than straight glue? Any idea's?

cheers

Every product is different, there is no rule or guidline to go buy, only what the manufacturer may claim for their product.

Re: Epoxy Filler and Glue

the 'flex' is pretty much in the epoxy..

the filler's do play a role.. but pretty much their job is for 'loft'/filler..

silica is for non-sag application.. good strenght.. hard to sand..

micro-ballons/spheres for easy sanding .. not very strong..

mill fibre glass powder.. STRONG..!! sands like concrete..

usaully,, a good mix for sanding is 70 % ballons.. 30 % silica..

Re: Epoxy Filler and Glue

I should have continued with more info. The epoxy is the flexible part of the mix, the fillers won't make it more flexible, only less. But if you start with a very flexible epoxy and add fillers you will end up with a somewhat flexible filler that may be more flexible than some types of epoxy glue. Thats why I said you will have to go by what the manufacturer said about the flex of the product.
