epoxy removal

When I bought my boat several months ago, it had an old fish locator installed. The transducer is epoxied to the bottom of the boat right beside to drain plug in the back. I upgraded the old locator, but can't figure out how to get the old transducer out. Is there type of chemical that will break-up the old dry epoxy, or will I have to cut it out?

Thanks for any help given...

Re: epoxy removal

Try a heat gun and some heavy duty Furiture stripper like Circa 1850.
