Erratic Fuel Gage

Hello, I have a fuel gage problem. When I turn the key to the ``on`` positions, the gage registers fine, it stay s stable, when I start the engine, it goes crazy, bouncing all over erratically. If it make any difference, it is on a 1999 Javelin Fish n Ski. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a loose/Bad connection somewhere.
Once the engine starts vibrating the hull the gage looses continuity.

Start shaking wires with the engine OFF.
The gage will go nuts when you shake the bad one.

Thanks, tried that, no luck, Had my future son in law come over to take a look, he is just taking H D mechanics classes, perfect timing, he is working on electrical. Within 2 minutes he identified the sending unit as the problem, had it out in another 30 seconds. Picked up a new one for $22 bucks, easy to install, all good now. Ya, I think he can marry my daughter...
