Here's a puzzler. My motor started to run really hot about 50 yards from the ramp. I watched the temp gauge start up off the pin really quick. I shut down when it went past 160 and paddled back in. Here's the puzzling bit. I installed new head gaskets, t'stats, water deflectors, back plate gaskets. Basicly all the stuff that's cooling related. Dropped the lower unit pulled the pump impeller and it is good (only about 5 hours old anyway). The only thing i found was about a half inch crack in the impeller liner in the stainless steel. It goes vertically from the open end (bottom). Could this be enough to allow the pump to not prime and therefore not pump water? I'm all ears guys, this is a wierd one.
