ESI325 Cordless Inductive Tachometer

Has anyone used one of these tachs on 2 stroke outboard motors for troubleshooting? It looks like a good deal for just $40 plus shipping. Says it can be used on any spark plug motor.

ESI says it is for automotive use and not for small engines due to RFI around the ignition systems
