I have a 15HP Eska. It is one of the last ones they made. I bought new in box but I am not sure the year the model number is 14211F. I has been used about 5 times. It was not run for 6 years..but gas was run out an drained. I started the boat up to sell it..started ok and ran fine. Sat for 2 weeks and then would not start at all, I took carb off thought it may have had some debris. I took it off drained the bowl saw nothing. but the little pin and spring came off under the float (sorry don't know the name for this part). I put it back together and it started and ran fine in the tank. Actually starts and runs fine with each pulls..idles ok However now the gas is dripping from the exhaust all the time. I did not put back in water to try at full speed. I took bowl back off and thought I had the pin and spring in wrong.. seems loose and ok. Put back together again and still the same thing. I can buy a kit for this..how hard is it to do? what do you think is wrong? I also see a guy on ebay will rebuild it for $55.00 I just want to get it running to sell my fishing boat.

Re: ESKA 15HP carb problem - gas dripping from exhaust

Is it gas dripping out the exhaust or exhaust residue?Unless there is some sort of recirc valve it is almost impossible for the carb to cause gas to drip out of the exhaust. You might unhook the tank and run the carb. dry see if it still drips. It is possible depending on the type a leaky fuel pump diaphram might drip gas out the exhaust. But it would seem to me that only what is in the carb or pump which doesn't seem like much to me.If the carb was flooding
it would be difficult to start and be extra smokey.

Well actually it does start a little hard at times and I guess it seams to run smoky. If I leave the tank connected it drips pure gas out the exhaust

I don't know the Eska 15 but it would seem to me if gas comes out the exhaust there must be a drain ahead of the reeds that deverts excess gas to the leg.otherwise to me it would have to be a cracked fuel pump diaphram.
But this depends on where the fuel pump is attached to the motor.
The carb does have a replaceable Viton inlet valve seat that I suppose could be bad. If there isn't a seat tool in the kit you have to fashion one out of a piece of wire If that rebuild includes the kit it sounds ok to me.
