ok, my uncle has an eska and he told me the powerhead was a free air cooled unit, no water pump, but now i got another guy telling me that the powerhead is freeair cooled but the lower unit needs to be cooled and the lower crank seal needs to be cooled so i guess hes saying its like half water cooled, is this true? or is this guy just full of bs, i will know when i actually look at the engine but just wondering if you guys do, thanks

Re: Eska 2 hp cooling question

It uses an aircooled Tecumseh power head with a water cooled leg
water circulate up to a diverter and simply exits the exhaust.
Quote"lower motor leg and exhaust gasses are water cooled"
Older 3,4,6 and 7hp use a coolant tube that picks up prop wash.older 5hp uses a pump. Older 5hp uses a Clinton or Tecumseh power head. All newer motors use a pump.
I don't find a 2 hp. Older motor smallest was a 3, 77,78,79 had 1.2 and 2.5
that I'm sure are Tanaka motors of the day. these don't have a water cooled leg.

Re: Eska 2 hp cooling question

My 69-89 aftermarket ser. man. doesn't list the 2.Only the 3 startung with 14207 in 83.The 14205 might also be based on the Tanaka.
