I've had a 3.5 , made in 1973- model 1945-A nonadjustable main jet, and hadnt used in about 33 years.
I changed the points and condenser and rebuilt the carb. i got it to run briefly on starting fluid, and it sounded nice.
The bowl has gas when i loosened the screw, and it doesnt overflow - but wont start and doesnt seem to be getting any fuel, no fuel smell on the new sparkplug.
Must be something I did wrong on the carb, how do I test if the main jet is working ? or any suggestions on what to do.

PS I also just bought a 1974 yer - model 1945-B that runs and smokes (originally wanted it for parts if needed ) -and if you open up the top tank valve more than about half a turn, the carb starts to leak gas. It has an adjustble main jet.
