My info indicates 16:1 8 ozs per gallon. Most reccomend 2 cycle chain saw oil.Because the powerhead is air cooled.Point gap is .020,plug is J13Y gap is .035.

Re: eska golden jet 5 Hp

Upon taking apart the motor I discovered what was left of the tag around the gas cap. I believe it to read 1/2 a pint of sae 30 outboard oil to 1 gallon of gas. On the point cover it does read .020" gap, but the plug was champion J7J?? Also I was not getting any spark, wires look great points are opening and closing and magnets are clean on flywheel. Where should I go from here? Over all this motor appears to have been taken care of, kept indoors and used very little for its age.

That is correct on the oil/gas mix. I was just given this motor and it plainly states this on the motor. 1/2 pint S.A.E 30 outboard motor oil per gallon.

I think if you just file the points and polish them up, you'll be good to go. The ignition systems in those are pretty tough and may only need a condensor, as a worse case scenario.

I would just go to the local marine supply or Napa and get a J6C spark plug.
