Eska question

My father in law bought an Eska outboard, 7 hp, believe it is a 1972. It runs great but will not shift into neutral, the prop is always turning. It has sat for quite a few years. I looked at the manual and see there is a clutch assembly up at the powerhead. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? I have worked on many outboards but never an Eska. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Re: Eska question

My after market manuals indicate a clutch in the gearcase no reference to a clutch near the power head.If there is one near the power head my guess is it is seized either from corrosion or sitting. My manuals cover 65-85 models.
If it is near the powerhead the motor wont pump water in neutral.Powerhead being air cooled this is ok for a short time. What is the model number?

Re: Eska question

Thanx for your input. I have the clutch that is NLA. Not worth trying to take it apart, will just have to make due like it is.

Have a great day.
