My Etec has now done about 15 hours and runs really well however I have had one annoying and potentially dangerous problem with it.
On two occasion I have been out at sea and was checking out some wildlife on an island off the Southcoast and the engine stalled then refused to start. This has happened on both occasions when idling then going into gear.
The engine refuses to start for 5-10 minutes then suddenly starts up like nothing ever happened and runs fine after. There is no warnings on the display to suugest an overheat and the dealer cannot see any faults pop up on the laptop.
The weird bit is during the period that the engine won't start if you do try to start it the engine turns over a couple of times and then the starter disengages and you can hear it spinning almost as if the engine fires but does not want to start.
There is no sign of fuel problems and the primer bulb is still hard.
Any ideas?
