evenrude 65 to a 70 0r 75?

Is the difference in these motors just carburetor size or cc's. Talking mid 80's era.

Didn't make a 65 in mid 80's except commercial...post model. if 70's 65hp ..nope

They marketed a 65 in 72 & 73------They also marketed 65 ( decal ) commercial models.----What is the motor model # that you have ?

I think I was having a bad idea. I was looking for a way to get around putting a new piston in my e70elcrd by picking up a used 65 and putting the good carbs on the 65 but decided to put a new piston in. Sucked a screw in from the intake box/mufler. Fix a headache to something you know will be good once fixed vs buy used and possibly end up in the same situation or worse. Service manual on the way. The only think that will kill that plan is if the rest of the bolts are as bad to get out as the head bolts. I can deal with that

so much different on those 2 motors. jetting is different just the tip of the iceberg.
