I was sure it went into the water, and was powerful glad when I found it!

Jinx

Been there done that too many times. Keys are cheap. Now I carry 2 sets of boat keys and 3 truck keys every time.

Re: ever happen to anyone else ?

I had just taken my boat out early one holiday for a quick hours fishing before the wife and kids wake up. There was a really strong offshore breeze and I was just drifting over sand patches when a large angry wasp blew by and about 20 meters away turns around and starts laboring back into the wind. (My boat the last landfall until South Africa) It keeps on flying in until it goes to land on my face, i swat at it an knock my glasses off hearing them bounce on the gunnel. Peering shortsightedly over the side I see them sinking and immediately dive in and grab them. (I am as blind as a bat without them) Surfacing with glasses in hand there is a brief moment of happiness followed by the following thoughts in order.
Is my mobile phone in my pocket No...great
Can I swim as fast as my boat is drifting Yes just
Perhaps I should've got that ladder coz its going to be hard to get in.
Motto never carry anything in your pockets that can't get wet

Well, at least you got back into the boat.
I hope you killed that wasp. Damn nasty, useless creatures anyhow!
