puddle ..... I don't blame them either, the conditions here for them to work with is shocking, for their training here they have to do a year service in a state hospital, that is more than enough to send them packing ..... it is so funny it was Nelson Mandela's 89th b-day yesterday ..... everyone thinks what a wonderfull man he is etc. etc. but little does anyone know the real stories behind him .....

I bet Mandela has some skeletons in his closet.About all we have heard about him was he went to jail for something he beleved in.Didnt he and his wife have people killed for one reason or another and this was wile he was in jail.Tell me more its interesting to hear the real story from some one who was there.

Re: Ever watched the movie Blood Diamond?

Well you see he was a terrorist here in South Africa, and had his own underground group going (kinda like gangsters these days) anyway ... but alot more hectic, him and his group, planted bombs in public places killing thousands of people (white), things like that, that is why he went to jail in the first place, he killed so many people ..... now according to him he did it for freedom and to get back the land that the whites took from the blacks (now south africa only have one tribe that lived here and that is the khoi san and they are coloured, not black, so how did the whites take their land when it wasn't theirs anyway ... all the blacks came from the top of africa not south africa) .... I understand the SA government at that time, were a bit hectic also (apartheid era) but it wasn't really that bad the way mandela made it out to be, SA was run like a business and it did very very well I think the currency at some stage was the same as the Pound .... anyway after 1994 when all hell broke loose the black communities took over the country and it was made the new South Africa where everyone is free ..... well it is not really like that .... the apartheid era is starting all over again accept it is the other way around ..... where black people get preference in everything, jobs, better salaries, pay less tax etc. any company have to be 80% black etc. ..... but anyway since then this place has been run to the ground because people who don't know what they are doing is running it and have no clue .... not as bad as Zimbabwe .... yet (old Rhodesia) .... Zimbabwe was one of the richest countries back in the day, cause the white farmers ran it very well, then all hell broke lose and the whites was thrown out the country and killed and their farms was taken over by people who doesn't have a clue about farming, that country has now officially gone to hell, their inflation is now at 5000% and that is no joke ..... now zimbabwe people is flooding our borders cause there is no food or anything there so now they come here, so about 5 million illegal immigrants is coming into SA ....... anyway, I can go on and on ... that is why I don't watch the news anymore ..... but the point is he killed people went to jail, brainwashed his people to make out that White people has done them wrong, but in the meantime they have done wrong by killing and being a terrorist in a country that doesn't belong to them anyway .... and so it goes, but how do they say people always want what doesn't belong to them .....

So we are saying western nations did not go down there and set up shop to export the rich natural resources

They were just simple farmers who bought a plot of land

Deejay ive heard of that before were some one moves into a place that no one wanted and thought was a wast land. Then thay make it into a profitable
venture and then foul play is called bye the people who didnt want it.Something similar happend near hear when the USA bought what we now as Alaska from the Soviet Union.Shortly after that thay found gold lots of gold.I know the Soviets grumbled about it but i dont think thay went as far as to kill people.

ricksrster that funny and the kicker is ive never heard of Sgt Preston and Yukon King.

Sgt Preston was a TV program. He was RCMP. He faithful companion and fellow crime fighter was Yukon King, his husky. The setting was in the Yukon during Gold rush days.

I thougt you were describing Washington DC for a minute. The local city government is run the same way. Extreme nepotism, corruption, and incompetence. And a murder rate to go with it. I think it was thursday, they had 11 shootings in one night.

They told us that DC gun control works. I guess it works out great for the bad guys.

Good point, Rick! I went to a baseball game last night and it would have been hard for them to play without a diamond.

So, PW, what you are saying is if DeBeers would loosen their grip on diamonds we would have more baseball? BOYCOTT DEBEERS, I say! Baseball for everyone! :D :p

Big Diamonds!
Come on Haute...
