Re: Everstarts Maxx or Interstate

I have had such good luck with Everstart batteries I would probably get another, warranty or not.

might just be me but i have had nothing but crappy luck with walmarts everstarts....the first one i bought for my truck was returned 3 times before i got a good one, they just wouldnt take a charge. i was being cheap and tried them again in the boat....forgot the radio on and killed the battery :/ after that this one wouldnt take a full charge :( i now run interstate in my truck....more expensive but worth it so far... but like i said it could just be my bad luck.

Ahhhh............... The beauty of forums...................

Running a group size 29 in series with a different group size provides no benefit as the smaller battery will be discharged before the larger one. Replace battery pairs with the same group size and capacity (or as reasonably close as practical). Going bigger on one battery serves no benefit unless the smaller one is due for replacement in the very near future and therefore would get replaced with another group 29.

I paid for three(guess I'm a sucker) and they all failed quickly. 2 Yellows and one red. No thanks, I'll take my evertarts maxx's that last longer, and cost a fraction of the cost. ;)

No Optima's here either, had a pair of their starting batt's and they lasted two seasons- yes we made sure to have the right charger, electrical system was checked, etc, etc....they just were junk. Had Interstate in boats and cars for a long time and they're great. A little spendy but great.

I thought about starting a new thread, but didn't only so that people could see my delima from before. So basically, getting a 29 series is really no benefit, other than if I go with Walmart battery it's about $20-30 cheaper. Of course if I put the 29 series as the 1st/12v battery, if I ran that mode, it'd last longer, right??? Again they are independently wired and the switching from 12 to 24v is done at the controls for the motor.

No haven't checked walmart lately, but I need to do something in next day or two.

Optimas are out, as I'm not replacing everything and my onboard 3 bank charger requires all batteries to be the same. As far as concern over quality, I don't worry about either Walmart or Interstate, both have done me well.

Thanks for the responses....
