I like the one DJ posted at the top of the thread. I sent it to my father. He used to make us paint the working bulbs so we could have a different color each year.

Don't fet me wrong guy's love the lights but the hastle is freaking not worth it but on the other hand (wife) we have to have something and we have comprimized to the spot lights in different coars and some blanket lights over the shrubs in different colors of coarse and it looks fine and not such a hastle. I do like the deer in the tree bit but I think the boss would go balistic if I did that

You guys are good :D :D We quit messing with stringing lights, but the ball of the lights and the hanging deer look like fun.

We switched to LED lights 2 years ago. So far so good.

You guys don't have problems....

I pulled up to my buddies house a couple years back when he was hanging the lights... He was bich'n up a storm as his wife made him swap out all the red&green lights for blue&white lights. No, not whole strings of lights, but each individual bulb. :eek::rolleyes: Lord only knows how much it cost for all those bulbs, then he had a whole bucket full of old bulbs. I wouldn't have done it...

Boy, did I have to dig for this thread so not to have a duplicate!:eek:

Trimmed the house yesterday. The strings worked fine in the house. Plugged them in last night, of course, now one string is out. Now I have to bundle up, get out the ladder, take down part of the string, climb on a snowy roof and take down the rest of the string. Then I get to pull one bulb at a time clean off corrosion(I left them up all year a couple of years ago. Never again.) and put the string back up. These are LEDs too.

Whine over...........

The wife likes the LED lights, she says their easyer to hang :D

Friend maybe you should not use the heavy duty staple gun to attach the wires to your house.......try tape...lol

Fixed the string of lights that worked inside but not outside on the house, not really. Had them working again in the house(even shook the string just incase of a loose connecton), put them back up tonight, they don't work..... again. Power is passing thru them because the strings after are working fine. Going to pull it down tomorrow and try again.......:(

Yes I am the neighbor that puts them up early but, I refuse to turn them on until after Thanksgiving.

Be aware that some have a hidden mercury switch to fake you out into buying new lights. :D
