Evin 68 65hp wont run anymore =( ...help me

Hi folks....i have a evinrude v4 2-stroke engine from 1968 whit 65 HP.....last year she runs well for 10 minutes and then it starts to run hard and hevy for abouot 3-4 minutes then she died....after that not even a sign of life...so now i did some troubleshoting.sometimes sparks sometimes not so i replaced the coil whit a coil from one of my cars then she started right up =)) so i orded a new coil and replaced the old one today....but absolute nothing happend ?????? it give sparks and so......i have absolut NO ide what it could be....HELP me pleeeeease (ohhh the rotor and distrobutor are supernew to)....never had a problem whit her and now nothings working =( huhuuuuu.

Hey Seb...Let me give ya' a couple things to do and check. This will mean removing the flywheel and distributor to get at the points.<br /><br />You have two sets of points under the flywheel that are set at .010. Check the gaps and check that the points are not burnt and need replaced. Down around the crank shaft, you should see a spring wire just riding around the top of the crankshft. This is the reverse cut out wire...which means if for some reason the engine decided to start backwards, this roung spring wire would ground out the points to prevent it. If this round spring wire is worn or bent, get rid of it. Won't hurt anything. <br /><br />Your ignition system is dependent on having a good battery to supply the 12volts required to the power pack or what was then called the amplifier. This 12volts was supplied to the amp through the single purple wire that goes to the amp. Make sure you are getting a good solid 12 volts there. Not 9 or 10 but 12volts. These engines will not work well with anything less.<br /><br />Give these things a look and let us know what you find.

Tanx....<br /><br />But i already checkt all that =/.Today a did new research...i tryed again whit a coil from my car and she started right up...but whit my brand new original coil i just orded not even a spark =/...now can that be so??? I allso talked whit a marina and they say i must have a origlnal coil on MY engine and can NOT use my car coil...Why???<br />could it be the amplifer? must the metal (magnetik suff) on the coil be grounded??? and how to check if the coil are broken ???....<br /><br />i just not understand why my car coil works and not a brand new original coil???? tanx =)
