Evinrude 112

[Sneak]

Looking at possibly buying a boat with 1997(?) Evinrude 112 hp. I haven't seen it yet, but it is suppose to be in good shape and has been maintained (fogging in off-season,etc). Anything i should know about this motor (bad or good)? Thanks.

Sneak,<br /><br />It is generally considered to be a very durable engine. It is the crossflow 99.6 cid block that has been basically unchanged since the early Seventies.<br /><br />The same engine was offered in many HP ranges: 88, 90, 100, 110, 112, 115, 135, 140 .

hello<br /> I have to agree with djohns19 . this engine design was started in 1958 maybe 57. it is noisy for some reason but if maintained they run a long time.<br /> have it checked out by an unbiased pro before purchase. its cheap insurance <br /> Good luck and keep boating

Reliable, proven design, but uses plenty of fuel.
