Hi All,

I know this has been a covered a few times but I haven't exactly found what I'm looking for. I have a 1995 Evinrude 115 HP intruder and I'm in the process of converting it from the oil metering system (OMS) to a straight fuel pump. They make $130 kits for this but I'm going to do it with an $18 external pulse pump. Since it's a 60 degree looper, it has a fuel vapor separator and a special nipple outlet from the OMS that goes into the VST. A couple questions I have are:

1. Can the fuel vapor separator be completely bypassed? Is it necessary? I know it has a vapor pump powered by it's own pulse, which also supplies lubrication to upper crank. If I completely bypassed the vapor separator, could I tee in those lines to my regular pump to provide that needed lubrication? I would plug the secondary pulse port on the block.

2. The reason I want to bypass the whole system and tee in my carbs directly is this special nipple (has two O-rings) fitting for the carb side of the VST. I'm trying to use the old OMS one but it isn't built with a hose barb for connecting to a hose. Does anyone sell a hose barb version of this nipple? I also don't want air getting into this connection.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If the oms pump has not failed on the fuel side just disconnect the oil side and run pre-mix.

I've already purchased a new pump and would like to go to that route, since it's simpler. I'm going to design and 3D print a bracket for it, I'll report how it works. I'm going to try and 3d print a replica of the fuel fitting also, but with a hose barb end.

Got the new pump installed with my custom bracket. Found out I need to alter it a bit so I can fit the carb cover on. Also bought a 90 degree elbow nipple that I used for the fuel pump-to-vapor separator, OMC part number 345239. Had to file down the ridges on the end. Did a test run before winterization and ran pretty good, here's a video:

You need to cut some ribs on that or pressure will slowly push hose off no matter how tight its clamped and how did you secure it into fuel bracket????

Right now it's just pushed in with the hose providing the support. That's how the $130 ones do it as far as I can tell, like the one sold on Maxrules. There's one barb (sort of) from where I sanded down the circular ridge.
