OK, I admitted it, now that thats done. What can someone tell me about the motor? Let's start with the basics, 2 stroke or 4, where to change the oil (Yes I plan on purchasing the service manual and the owners manual at some point but was hoping to "ask those in the know" first. I just bought the boat from the estate of a relative that pasted so surviving person knows nothing about it and unfortunately neither do I. I just put a new battery in it and powered up everything but the motor. Everything is working so far. <br /><br />Gotta be a 2 stroke. Do not work on it 'til you have a Service Manual.<br /><br />Get an owners Manual and a Service Manual as soon as you know the year. We can tell you the year from the Model number.<br /><br />Please post the model number off the plate on the mount, and tell us when the engine was last run.<br /><br />Then we can be of some help.<br /><br />I will move this to Johnson/Evinrude Troubles.<br /><br />Good luck.
