I'll try not to make this post so long that I scare people away, and not too short, so as not to leave out any important info.
I have a 135 HP Evinrude, I think it is a late 70's engine. Compression on all 4cylinders is about 125-130. I just cleaned the carburetors and checked the timing. It starts okay and Idles okay but is pretty slow on take off and the top end speed is definately lacking. The rpm's won't get over 3500. I am almost certain that it isn't a fuel delivery problem. I've changed lines and filters and pumped the primer ball while running and nothing helps. The only thing I'm not sure on is the spark.
Could I have a weak spark??? and if so what is the way to test it? If you could refer me to another post that has answers or help me out in any way I would apreciate it.
Also I have brand new coils on all 4 cylinders and new spark plugs.
