Hello,<br />I was justwondering if anyone knows howto remove the gear case on the evinrude 15 HP from 1979, and also if anyone knows how to attach the drive shaft.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Rasm
RasmBTop..... Remove the lower unit bolts that are obviously retaining the unit. Drop the unit slightly so that the brass shift connector (at the front of the unit) is visible. Remove the top 3/8" hex head bolt from that connector. The lower unit will now drop off.<br /><br />Removing the water pump will allow you to simply lift or lower the driveshaft up and out of the lower unit, or back into it.
