Last year I was fishing on the Rouge River In Oregon and the moter was fine. This year I started It up in the backyard It ran for a couple of minutes, I shut it off, then proceded to the Lake I couldn't get It started at all.My arm was about to fall off. Then I changed the gas, realizing that it was last years. Put new plugs in It started for 20 seconds. What do you think I should next..A mechanic told me to spray starter fluid with lubricant into the carb. That didn't work. Is it dificult to get the carb off tight squeez. He also told me to lay the moter face down on the ground pump the bulb a let the gass flow through for a couple of minutes, that didn't work. what is the spark plug gap? Mine is o.35 is this correct.

I think you should rebuild the carb, you probably sucked up some of that nasty from the old gas, and also built up some nasty left in the bowl from last years gas.

You probably need to flush out the fuel system and clean the carb...2 stroke gas/oil mix + time = gum deposits

Rich
