evinrude 150 fuel problems

on an evinrude E150TLCOS that has vro/fuel pump with vacuum switch 0394937,does the vacuum switch have to work in order for the fuel pump to pump fuel? since this vacuum switch is obsolete,is there a replacement that can be used? it will run as long as you pump the bulb.take the gas line going to carbs off and nothing pumps out unless you pump the bulb.vacuum switch is not working.please help,thanks

OK, Looks to be a 1985 motor. Sometimes those vacuum switches are to detect fuel restrictions, although I do not know if that applies to your motor. Make sure there are no leaks in the vacuum switch or hoses. Conect the fuelline directly to the VRo and see if it works better.
