HI

Can anyone tell me what the correct temperature, in centigrade or fahrenheit, is please.

Since a service (motor has done 200 hours) including a water punp impeller replacement, the temperature gauge shows the motor as running below normal (green) at revs. Took the boat back to the service agents several times and they can't find anything wrong with the motor. They did a modification to the gauge by putting in a relay but that didn't change anything.

They took temp readings at 500rpm increments and faxed them off to Bombardier in Melbourne and they said everything was OK. The temps were 60 degrees celsius at idle, dropped to about 25 at 1500rpm and increased to around 39 at 4000rpm.

My question has always been, what is the correct temperature at operating rpms and no one can tell me.( they tell me that no one has worried about low temps and that everything is designed around not operating too hot.) And if the low temps are OK why does the gauge show the engine as operating below the normal operating range.

Tarka
