Evinrude 150 not staying cranked - electrical issue

Totally different ignition system....optical. Needs 12v from starter solenoid to energize pack till RPM is built up. Then power coil can supply voltage, if coil bad it will only run with key held in start position.

Damn... They have an ignition system that functions beautiful since the early 1970's... and they just have to change it to a more sophisticated system that breeds problems! Amazing!.......... Can hardly wait for the rocket powered models to hit the scene around 2030.

Just thought I’d let y’all know - it was the stator. But now the trim is giving me problems. Lol. Dang boats. Joe Reeves Faztbullet oldboat1
