EVINRUDE 150V6 need some advice

okay my motor runs finr when its out of the water when i have the waterhose hooked up. but when i put it in the water it will not run. i can crank it and leave it on full idle but when i let the lever down to run it chokes out and dies. i just took the carb off and rebuilt them (3) they are all aligned right. the diaphram is in good condition. im stumped and donnt know what to do. i dont know if its a wire some where thats not grounding or anything any help?

do a compression test,and spark test,with a spark tester,it can appear to be great with no strain on it.What diaphram are you talking about?The symptoms sound as though you have a bank of cylinders out ,or a couple cylinders,if its one whole side,you likely have a bad powerpack,if its one or two,it may be coils ,OR THEIR CONNECTIONS INCLUDING GROUNDS COULD BE BAD.

done the compression test evrything is fine. powerpack is good coils are good. could it have something to do with trash in the gas tank? the 2 diaphrams to the right of the carbs

I had the same problem on a 92 faststrike and it turned out to be that it had the wrong plugs in it. Change the plugs and never did it again.

yes it could be bad fuel or fuel lines, or fuel pump. the 2 diaphragms I assume are your fuel pumps. What year model is this motor. What test did you do to check coils, powerpack, stator???? and what was the compression??
