1968 Evinrude 55hp, 3 cylinder, 3 carbs. I intend to purchase kits and rebuild carbs. Help please ... any special tricks or things to watch for during the rebuild? Like particularly sensitive gasket areas or reassembly cautions. Seems like it should be straightforward, but maybe there's some experience out there which will help avoid a common mistake. Thanks!

Howdy, Upper Saranac.

The most common error I have seen is to try the job without a factory (not Seloc, not Clymer)Service Manual.

Do not switch the positions of the carbs and give extra attention to the Link 'n' Synch when you put her back together.

Good luck. :)

Hello.
The Seloc people have a real sensible piece of advice.
Take a few polaroid pictures of the different stages of your work. This really helps when you think things are going wrong.
Good luck.

Don't use automotive type spray cleaners. Not good enough.
Pay close attention to all orifices not just the convenient ones.
