bosman02, you should start a new thread so you can keep track of responces.
To ansewer your question, you should only have to remove the core plug on the top of the carb for a carb overhaul. Two ways to do it, use a 1/8" drill bit and drill through the core plug and then pop it out with a sharp scribe, don't drill to deep just through the core plug.
The other way, the way I do it, just use a 1/8" punch and drive it through the plug, there soft, and pop it out.
