evinrude 1990 140 water pressure

I have two questions regarding this engines water pressure. I just installed a new water pressure gauge and at full throttle it reads 10 p.s.i. Is that about right? Impeller is about one year old. Also while flushing on the ear muffs there is obvious water leaking from where the gearcase separates, small holes evident from corrosion?

I bet you T'd the gauge into the overboard line, right? You need to read the pressure from the adaptor plate on a looper. T into the line from the adaptor to the water control valve behind the throttle arm.<br /><br />The water coming out between the gearcase and the mid section isn't anything to worry about. That normal.
