Re: Evinrude 1991 9.9
Here is the full story of that Evinrude 9.9
The owner went to a marina to have it prepare for winter
Before, the motor was working pretty well
The next summer, it would not start so he went to another marina
To have it fixed. It seems they overall the carb. They told him to change the kind of fuell
That is why ive tried 87 50-1 and 91-octane-100-1 Since he could not start it and did not want so spend another 300.00$ he put it away for two years. When he brough it to me, ive check the carb. Clean it toroughly, blow every passage and put a new kit in it. But still can have it to start. Ive put some pure gas in the combustion chamber and there it starts. I let let it run for a few minutes and stop it. I pull the rope and it start. Did it a few times and it starts. When i let it cool all night, it wont start the next morning. Unless i inject pure gas in the chamber. After cranking 3 times,(choke on) the plugs get wet but not flooded.I have a good hot spark, The compression is good(new rings) The gas does not ignite why? I cant start the dam thing unless i inject it Believe me, i am not a pro but car motors have no secret to me but this one baffle me.I have followed every tips i had.
Still cant start it. I am open to any suggestions beside trowing it away!!
PS: This motor is nearly brand new
