Evinrude 1997 225 hp eliminating vro

I would like to eliminate the vro and add the oil to the gas tank. What is the proper way to do this Thanks signed Stuck in the fla keys HELP. Ps oil alarm goes off and ball loses prime I had same problem a few months ago and I replaced the vro.

Just plug off the oil inlet line and unplug the electronics at the pump. Which, by the way, isnt a VRO pump.<br /><br />Sounds like the pickup in the tank is clogged or its sucking air somewhere. Most likely not a pump problem.

thanks for the reply I have someone in the area checking it out and ill let you know the outcome.I guess the oil alarm and losing prime is not a symptom of a defecive oil pump problem??.

Not necessairly a problem with the pump itself. But if they can't pin point the problem, you are correct in simply pre-mixing. Even if they do find and fix the problem you can pre-mix until you verify the injection is working properly. <br /><br />Wish I was in the Keys.............
