Evinrude 2.5 88 any info would be great.

I was wondering how reliable this little motor is. Maybe some real use history on it would be helpful. Were they dependable? start eazy,? Any Pros & cons would be helpful to me . It was my fathers and he said it was a great little dependable motor just for getting around the lake instead of rowing. Do you think he was right? Thanks Dan.

They are much better than rowing. The motor is so darned simple, there's just not much that can go wrong. On a boat that weighs less than 400 pounds, I've heard of people putting around a lake all day to hit all the fishing holes on a few cups of gas. I'm trying to find one to buy right now to put on a Bass Tender.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY. I FEEL BETTER KNOWING THAT THIS LITTLE 2.5 IS WORTH MAINTAINING AND USEING IT ON MY 12 FOOT ALUMACRAFT FLAT BOTTOM INSTEAD OF USEING A 30LB THRUST MINN-KOTA AND 80LB BATTERY. dAN.
