Evinrude 2001 50 hp 4-stroke outboard reliable?

Hi. I came across a boat for sale with a 2001 50 hp. 4-stroke Evinrude. Am looking at purchasing. Just wondering if anybody has experience with this particular model. Need to know if this engine is reliable or not. Any advice or past experience you could share would be most appreciated.

Yes, that is a reliable outboard. Same as Suzuki DF50.

I agree. Seeing it was built by Suzuki it should be a good mtr.

Beware. The ECM for that is $1350. No aftermarket replacements.
Some of the oil pump parts are also NLA
