evinrude 25 hp 1990 e25eese, pinging noise?

my boat has been running very good. but i am starting to hear a slight clustered ping when i throttle up. like ...tick tick tic c ti tic... and then fine any thoughts? it is deffinatly coming fom engine somewhere.

Might want to get one of those mechanic's stethoscope they sell at Harbor Freight to see if you can isolate the noise.

I have one but it is difficult to do as it only happens on the water the noise is not very loud but i will try to ge out on the water soon to try it out..... willl poast back after i can get out .

I would check all the vitals and see if that points toward something.
