Evinrude 2HP - Parts -specification

Hello,

I came onto this forum for help with my Evinrude junior 1.2hp and managed to fix some of the issue (eg replacing the recoil cord) but still haven't managed to get it going.

While working on it I came across an Evinrude 2hp on Ebay (Model E2RCNE Serial no B024971). The seller had taken the screw that hold the recoil assembly off and the spring came loose... and he had no idea how to fix it! I was quite sure fresh from my experience with "Junior" that I could fix that motor and bought it for ?38.

I put it back together and managed to get it going (some slight adjustments are still needed to fast/slow idle) but I am working on these.

My problem at present is simple: I had to take some of the bolts from "Junior" that hold the cover and lower metal assembly (the part where the choke lever and valves come through) to totally secure the 2HP. I need to know the specification (ie thread size) for these bolts so that I can order some new one.

worst case if you have a set of taps... just try a few gently rotating so as to not damage the existing threads . that will tell you the size.

1/4 -20 , 10/20- etc....

Hi,

I am from Laval! Another contributor was from central Quebec! Amazing... I found a site that sell parts but the costs was prohibitive! It is cheaper to buy a non runner and strip it for parts! I will keep on searching...
