Have a short shaft motor and the boat needs one with a long shaft. Is there a conversion kit, and is the conversion a simple matter if there is one. Also where would one be purchased.<br /> Thanks,<br /> Skip

Howdy Skip...<br /> there are converison kits aviable but it isn't a easy task. the best bet is to trade this motor for one with a long shaft

5" spacer, longer driveshaft or extension, longer water pickup tube and longer shift shaft. I have the kit on my Mariner and a mechanic did it but if you have some mechanical ability I bet you could do it. There is a couple kits on ebay. I have been contemplating changing my longshaft to shortshaft and have been looking for a short exaust housing and parts.
