Evinrude 4 HP 4606M Won't Spark

I have an Evinrude 4 HP 4606M that from the naked eye looks to be in great/very clean condition. Only one catch, I can't get it started.

I replaced the plugs and that didn't work so I decided to see if they were sparking at all. They are not.

I'm not much of a mechanic and figured that I'll end up taking it to one, but i wanted to check the forum in case anyone knew of some easy things I could check out before I do so.

Thanks I can't wait to get her running she is a beauty.

koch1979. The best thing I could recommend is to look at the top of this forum at the Top Secret File. There are some links in there you should have a look at to help you get it started. I think your going to have to pull the flywheel and look at the points and coils for a start. Best of luck. Rick.

I was able to remove the fly wheel and cleaned the points. I now have spark in both plugs,YEAH! I now have another issue.

I was able to get the motor to start once. I let it run for a bit and then killed the choke. Now it won't start anymore. Any suggestions?

I thought of maybe taking the carb out and giving it a good cleaning?
