Evinrude 4 hp outboard water pump

I have been given an Evinrude 4 hp outboard and have managed to get it going, but there is no cooling water flowing out. I need to inspect and possibly change the water pump/ impeller, but cannot figure out how to get at it. Can anyone help?

The year of the motor makes a difference. If you are not sure what year it is try here to determine it. You will need the model number. Model & Year Guide <br />Post back with the info.<br />Mike<br />

The model No. is E4BRC1C and the serial No. is B091164.

As the link I gave you told you, it is a 1981.<br />You have to remove the gearcase to get at the impellor. <br />Not hard on this model but I do recommend a manual. Clymer manual #B732 is easy to follow. About $30.00 US or possibly a library<br />We can talk you thru but it would be better if you had a reference in front of you.<br />Mike
