Just bought a 1987 Evinrude 4hp twin, E4BRCUD. It has a 100:1 sticker but I remember seeing somewhere on here that it was wise to run these with a richer oil mix. Have I remembered correctly, or will this run OK with 100:1? Thanks in advance
That mtr would run fine on 100:1 fuel all day long and no probs. The reason OMC got away from it was because people would run them and leave "em set for maybe 1-5 months. There was not enough oil in the fuel so the internal parts would rust up and then the probs began. If it would have been fogged out on the final run there wouldn't have been a prob. But who's going to do that ?
iBoats or a dealer may be able to help with a manual for a motor that young. Otherwise direct from www.outboardbooks.com but sit down before you read the price!
