Does any one know if the powerhead has to come off this motor, to get the lower unit off?#5520-07306 I think it is a 1960 5.5 hp.Thanks

Yes. The shift rod release is under the powerhead, on the shift handle shaft.<br />- Scott

But take heart Will....easy job. Just disconnect every thing that is connected to the pan, fuel lines, any carb knobs, remove the screws under the pan that hold the power head and she should pop right off. May have to jiggle it a little if the gasket is stuck. But really no big deal.<br /><br />Good Luck....keep posting.
