Evinrude 5HP Lower end removal

I have a Evinrude 6905E older 5hp twin and am taking the lower unit off to install a water pump impeller and replace the lower end imput shaft seals that are leaking. It will not come out more than 5\8". Is there a pin in the powerhead that has to be removed first and how do you do that? <br /><br />Thank's, Pat

I am going to follow the instructoins in the water pump replacment in the rude 6hp forms and hope mine is the same. Pat

Hi Pat,I was quite fortunate in that everything went as was explained. I did have to slap it a bit with a wood block and a hammer but it worked fine. Follow the instructions given to me and Good Luck.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /> Pay attention to the parts at the top of your drive shaft and let me know what you find.
