My brother has an Evinrude 6502m 6hp. I have looked at several posts here and now know that that is a 1965 model. The fuel pump has apparently gone out on it. He asked me to look for one online, but I am having trouble finding a part number etc. Anyone know which pump goes on that model, or I might even try a pump kit. I am somewhat mechanically inclined, but have no knowledge of outboard engines.

I believe the rebuild kit is Sierra part #18-7801.But after a while of looking that is all I found, the kit runs about 25$. The best way to make sure it will fit is to disasemble the pump and compare parts with new kit.

Tx's fuel pump is about 1/2 the price of the OEM one..go that route if you replace with new

Re: Evinrude 6502m fuel pump

Thank You. I ordered the pump itself. He didnt want to run the risk with a kit, and I really ddn't want to mess with it anyway. For that matter the pump on it is a lot different and I don't know where I might find a kit for it. it is round and whatnot. It looks like sierra 18-7350 will work. If it wont, we will just send it back :)
