Evinrude 7.5 Timeing and Gap

I am trying to tune my little motor, (I have a related post under "Evinrude 7.2 waterpump") <br /><br />#1 --Is there a way to confirm accurate timing on a Evinruse 7.5? I have the plate screwed down with in the same location as to before rebuild. It seems to run well in the test tub, But I hear a pinging when I shut her down.<br /><br />#2 -- What is the correct Gap for the Plugs?

She is a 1982 Evinrude 7.5

I cant help you except to tell you that it would be wise for you to buy a service manual for your engine. They are inexpensive and it will save you time on waiting for replies, and you dont have to worry about mis-information. Also there is are guys that are around here by the names of, JB Cornwell, Schemetic, and Allan Graczyk, that know everything about Outboards. You might post a topic addressing them.
