Hi. I have searched all over the internet and . Can't find the right prop for my outboard. I can't even find the model number or serial number listed on any evinrude model guides. It is an evinrude 8hp Australian marine corporation. Model number AE8BACCS. As far as I can tell this number means it is an Australian evinrude 8hp rope start 1988 salt water. The serial number is A11600207. It is a prop with shear pin at the front and pin drive. All the props I've looked at on the site say pin drive but the picture shows it has a cog type drive? I would like to purchase the right prop if anyone can please tell me which is the exact one? Thanks.

Re: evinrude 8hp prop help.

Do you mean the shear pin is under the prop?
A picture of your prop may help.
Most of the pictures at least on iboats are facsimiles not necessarily an indication of exact prop.
If it says non thru hub pin drive thats what it should be.

Hi thanks for reply. The prop is an aluminium 3 blade prop that has a plastic nose cone with a cotter pin.
The prop slides onto a smoothe shaft with a shear pin that acts as the drive for prop rather than a spline type (cog) shaft that drives the prop. I will try to get a photo

The serial and model number and year 1988 is that not enough info to get an exact recommendation of what prop I Need to order?
I think AE8BACCS means>
A=Australia E =Evinrude 8=8hp-BA=rope start? CC=88(1988) S = salt water?
I just can't find a outboard anywhere matching my serial or model number.
I've searched through every model number On multiple guides and there is no 8hp that matches, but I'm sure they are absolutely correct numbers.

As far as I know 1988 had a splined shaft, if yours doesnt, the maybe some along the way swiched out the lower unit, with a pin drive. Im not sure if this can be done. Pictures of the inside of the prop and prop shaft, are a must, for someone to give you good info.

46252.jpg Two different prop sizes are listed at Marine Engine.Com; a 8 X 7 and a 8.5 X 9 for $ 89.

All these 8 hp are pin drive through 2005.
