Hi guys , i'm thinking of buying an old Evinrude9.5.
here is the link to the advertisement:

http://www.kapaza.be/Watersport_en_boten/Motoren/16419326/Evinrude_9_5pk.html

The motor is now at the dealer's , for fresh oil.
Once it's back, the seller will look for the serialnumber.
Last year , it had a good maintenance , new condensators, platines,oil...
Anyway , the paint looks very nice, and i think that when the paint looks nice , the engine was well looked after....
But is it economic with fuel ?
Is it a sportwin , and does that word mean , sport + twin ?
Would this be a good dependable engine, or would i rather buy a less older fourstroke?

9.5's were not OMC"S proudest moment. there parts are expensive. look for a 9.9.

I agree. If you don't own it already, don't buy it. They're OK, but they're sort of the red-headed stepchild of OMC outboards. You'll be much better off with one of their 9.9s, especially if you'll be working on it yourself.

Lots of places won't work on the 9.5's.
