Greetings! I am new to the group, I just purchased a Evinrude Angler 5hp, I thought it was good shape for its age, all that I have found is the steering is really stiff and hard. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks in advance!

There is a screw that you can turn to loosen or tighten the steering mechagnism on most motors (if not all motors). Just look for an adjustment screw and loosen it a smidge and she should loosen up for you.

Be realistic. Remove the rear swivel housing, #21, (8 bolts) and clean out the old grease and corrosion, and reassemble with new marine grease.

Welcome aboard Chief. If it's a salt water motor, take some extra precautions before any disassembly -- soak bolts beforehand at a minimum.
